Field Fictions for Self-seeders (2024)
‘Field Fictions for Self-seeders’ is an interdisciplinary fieldwork walk on the theme of botanical self-seeding which occurs in cities, mostly unnoticed.
Using a series of more-or-less factual, poetic and imaginative texts and invitations, it encourages you to explore and reflect upon the values of self-seeding to the urban biome and how urban environments affect self-seeding processes.
The walk has been performed with postgraduate students in Geosciences, University of Edinburgh, October 2024, and with academic participants at the Enhancing Fieldwork Learning conference, Edinburgh, October 2025.
